 JOB DESCRIPTION

Part Time Staff                                                                                     Reports to:  Restaurant Manager

 

Position Functions I Areas of Responsibility

1. Reports to work on time in the proper grooming and uniform (Follow Famous Apples Grooming Standards). Ensures standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis.

2. Obeys all company rules and regulations.

3. Always greets guests with a smile & friendly attitude and employs suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience and to increase company revenues.

4. Meets all guest needs during the course of the transaction in order to achieve a positive dining experience.

5. Maintains good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the property.

6. Be responsible for all financial transactions occurring with his/her participation within the operations.

7. Maintains communication with the Manager.

8.  Make sure to have in place everything needed to perform your job.

 

Interactions

1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.

2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management and other departments in a respectful manner.

3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

2. Preferred job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

 

Specific Requirements:

1. Must be at least 17 years of age.

2. Valid Ca Food Handlers Card

 

Skills & Knowledge

1. Must demonstrate competency in reading and writing in English, bi-lingual in Spanish is a Plus, knowledge in arithmetic with accuracy in math. Must be able to learn menus, be proficient in handling money and demonstrate ability to multi-task, e.g., ring several checks at once, serve several guests at once while maintaining interactions between other staff and guests.

2. Ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, including credit card information according to PCI rules and requirements. This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage and disposal of sensitive information.  Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager or company.

 

Administrative:

1. Knowledge and understanding of PCI DSS, including the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal, financial and credit card information of guest/customers   * The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is an information security standard for organizations that handle branded credit cards from the major card schemes.

2. Requires exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval. Requires problem solving and initiation of activities within job description and a strong understanding of Famous Apples policies.

 

Working Conditions

1. Work Schedule:

   1. Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.

2. Mental:

   1. May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, weather conditions, and commuting to/from Famous Apples.

3. Physical:

   1. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

   2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

   3. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
